Project details

The theme of the Philanthropy Forum focuses on the issues related to philanthropy in sight of recent developments.

It takes all sectors to make progress on the most important and far-reaching international challenges. Foundations and philanthropists can be an advocate to address and solve global problems. They can be part of cross-sector partnerships, grow constituencies, mobilize resources and advocate policy. Nevertheless there is a general recognition that large scale philanthropy has underperformed. Does this suggest we need more risk-taking, more entrepreneurial approaches and more vision? Are foundations familiar with managing risks operating in a global context? What are the success factors and risks to mobilize partner organizations and set up cooperation models? Is there a toolbox for risk-taking and risk management? How do foundations develop start up and exit strategies?
